Rangefront Waste: septic and wastewater service software.
Septic, wastewater and water-tank servicing runs on paper run sheets, a whiteboard, and three apps that don't talk to each other. Rangefront Waste puts the dispatch, the council paperwork and the billing in one place. You buy it once.
Rangefront Waste runs the day for a septic pumping or wastewater business: who’s on which job, what each council wants for a property, which systems are overdue, and whose invoice is still unpaid. It’s built for the trade, not a generic field-service app with the labels swapped out.
Software like this usually arrives as a per-seat subscription that climbs every time you put on staff. This doesn’t. You pay once to have it set up the way you work, and then it’s yours to run. It’s built in Toowoomba for Australian operators, so the council reporting follows local rules rather than an overseas template.
What it handles
One place for the whole job, from the first call to the paid invoice.
- Dispatch and run sheets. Plan the day, assign technicians, and watch jobs move to done without ringing around to find out what happened.
- Council reporting. Every council wants something slightly different. The forms and submissions are tracked so nothing sits overdue, and each job carries the proof it was done.
- Properties and systems. Every tank, trap and treatment system at every address, with its service history and what’s due next.
- Defects. Flag it on site, set how urgent it is, and it stays in front of someone until it’s closed.
- Invoicing. Bill the job, chase what’s owed, and push it through to Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks so nobody types the numbers twice.
- A field app. Technicians get their day on a phone and update the office as they go, instead of handing in a pile of dockets on Friday.
What it costs
Setting it up is a one-time A$8,500. That covers the install and configuration: your services, your council requirements, your branding, and your team trained on it.
After that, two things are optional, and both get quoted to your size rather than sold as a fixed plan:
- Support and maintenance. Updates, fixes, and someone to call when you need one.
- Hosting. We can run it for you, or set it up on your own server if you’d rather self-host. We’ll tell you which one works out cheaper.
No per-seat licence sits on top of any of that. Take on three more technicians over summer and the bill doesn’t move.
Where else it fits
Septic tanks aren’t the hard part of this software. The hard part is the structure under it: jobs booked against fixed assets at fixed addresses, work you have to sign off to a regulator, money that chases the job. Plenty of field service trades run that way. Grease traps, water-tank cleaning, pump maintenance, backflow testing. We can reshape Rangefront Waste, put your name on it, and point it at any of them. If that’s your business, tell us what you service and we’ll tell you how close the fit is.
See it running
There’s a live demo you can open right now, no sign-up: waste.rangefrontlabs.com.au. It’s loaded with sample customers, jobs, council reports and invoices, so you can click through dispatch, compliance and billing the way your office would. It’s read-only, so poke around as much as you like. When you want it set up with your own services and council rules, get in touch and we’ll scope the install.

A one-time A$8,500 to install and configure it for your business: your services, your council rules, your branding, your team set up on it. After that, support and hosting are optional and quoted to your size. There's no monthly per-seat fee.
Either. We can run it for you, or set it up on your own server so you self-host. The two are priced differently, and we'll be straight about which one works out cheaper for you.
It's built for septic, wastewater and water-tank work, but the system underneath suits any trade that schedules jobs against assets and has to prove the work to a regulator. We can reshape and rebrand it for related work like grease traps, backflow testing or pump maintenance.
Yes. There's a live, read-only demo at waste.rangefrontlabs.com.au with sample data and no sign-up. Open it and click around.
Technicians get a mobile app built for the job, not a desktop screen shrunk onto a phone. The office sees the run sheet update as the work happens.
It connects to Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks, so invoices and payments don't get re-keyed by hand between systems.

It's full of sample jobs, council reports and invoices, and it's read-only, so click anything. When you want it set up for your own services, get in touch.
