The run sheet is on paper, the proof of delivery is a signature on a docket, telematics lives in one portal, the customer’s tracking expectation lives in an email, and the exception (a missed window, a damaged pallet, a redelivery) only surfaces when someone rings to complain. So when something goes wrong it becomes a phone call and a hunt through dockets, and the answer arrives a day after the customer wanted it.
Off-the-shelf transport software can cover the standard freight lanes, but most operators run something it does not model: a particular run structure, a billing rule, a customer who needs their own portal, a yard process nobody else has. - Exception and delay management that surfaces a problem while the truck is still moving, not at invoice time when it is too late to fix.
We also build the fleet and maintenance side, scheduling servicing off real usage and odometer data rather than memory, so a truck comes off the road on plan instead of breaking down on a run. Driver records, inspections and compliance documents sit against the vehicle, so a check is a quick capture on the phone rather than a clipboard that gets transcribed later, if at all.
Connecting telematics, TMS, EDI and freight billing
Logistics data is only worth capturing if the systems talk. We integrate telematics feeds, your TMS, EDI consignment and manifest exchanges with customers, and accounting, so a delivery confirmed in the field flows through to freight billing and reconciles against the rate. That removes the manual re-keying that lets revenue leak. On top of that we add automation for freight billing and reconciliation so the records agree instead of chewing through admin every run, and where the data supports it, applied AI sits mid-list for jobs like predicting late deliveries or flagging the runs most likely to throw an exception. None of it replaces the dispatcher’s judgement; it just gets the answer to them sooner. Freight software for a major Queensland transport state
Queensland moves a lot of freight, and the network is spread out enough that visibility is worth real money. The Port of Brisbane and the distribution belt around it handle the container and import flow, while Toowoomba has grown into a genuine inland freight hub: the Toowoomba Wellcamp airport and freight precinct, and the Inland Rail link feeding it, mean a Darling Downs operator is now part of a national supply chain rather than a regional sideshow. Further out, Gladstone and Townsville run their own port and bulk freight task, and the long line-haul routes up through Central and North Queensland mean a truck can be a full day from the depot when something goes wrong on a run.
That distance is exactly why an ePOD and run-sheet app that works offline matters here more than in a tight metro grid, and why exceptions need to surface while the truck is still moving.
